Providing the greatest support to parents, teachers and children.
Hello! I’m Cambe Wong, a former principal of a subsidized primary school and currently serve as a part-time lecturer at Hong Kong Baptist University. My teaching focuses on Play Therapy, Counseling, Student Guidance for Primary Teachers, and Kindergarten Principal Training. In addition to my academic work, I am a parenting education columnist and a registered social worker, and a highly experienced piano teacher with over 30 years of teaching experience.
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work and a Master’s degree in Counseling from the University of Hong Kong, along with teaching diplomas, piano performance diplomas (LTCL, ATCL), and a hypnotherapy certification. With extensive experience in education and counseling, and music training, I am deeply committed to advancing student development, parent education, and teacher professional growth. To date, more than 1,500 educators have participated in my professional development programs. I am also regularly invited to speak on topics related to play therapy, gifted education, and SEN student support.
PLAY Therapy
Play Therapy is counseling for children using play. Children often express themselves better through play than talking. Toys and games provide a safe, natural way for children to show feelings, explore emotions, solve problems, and build coping skills.
Child-Centered Play Therapy (CCPT)
Child-Centered Play Therapy, CCPT is a type of Play Therapy for children ages 3–10 with social, emotional, behavioral, or relationship challenges. Using play and a caring counselor relationship, children feel accepted and understood, which helps them express and process feelings.
Benefits:
Builds trust and a strong therapeutic relationship
Encourages self-expression and emotional growth
Reduces problem behaviors and improves overall functioning
Child-Parent Relationship Therapy (CPRT)
CPRT is a CCPT‑based program that helps children by strengthening the parent‑child relationship. In small, supportive groups, parents learn and practise skills — through weekly special playtimes—to understand their child, respond calmly, set firm but empathic limits, and maintain respect.
Benefits:
Parents:
Reduces parenting stress and enhances parents’ sense of efficacy and confidence in their caregiving role.
Equips parents with structured, evidence‑based skills for empathic responding, therapeutic limit‑setting, and calm, respectful discipline.
Children:
Decreases emotional and behavioural difficulties as the relational climate becomes more secure and consistent.
Increases children’s experience of being understood, accepted, and emotionally attuned to by their parents, strengthening attachment security.
Promotes gains in self‑regulation, cooperation, and overall social–emotional functioning in everyday contexts.
